REX TERRY - PRAISE AND WORSHIP PASTOR

Rex and his wife Dawn moved from Charlotte, N.C. to Decatur in 1982. They have two sons, Mason age 20, and Madison age 18. Rex and Dawn have been faithfully serving the Lord at Decatur Baptist for the past twenty-six years.

At age 11, Rex accepted Christ as his personal Savior. During his high school years, he committed his life to the ministry.

Short-term missions trips as a teen, the dedicated example of his parents, Lindsay and Marilyn, and a caring local church produced in him the desire to let God have complete control of his life.

Rex holds a B.A. in music from Tennessee Temple University, an M.A. in theology and a D. Min. from Louisiana Baptist University. Dawn holds a B.S. in education from both Tennessee Temple and Liberty University and a M.A. from University of Alabama in Birmingham. Dawn has her national board certification.

For the past twenty-five years, Rex has served as the Music Director at DBC. In conjunction with the music ministry, he also oversees the media ministry. Dawn has been teaching at East Lawrence Elementary for the past eighteen years.

Rex is committed to his Lord and family. His life verse is Galatians 2:20. He enjoys golf. He loves to eat baby back-ribs and pecan pie.
