G.I.C. – Global Impact Celebration is coming soon on October 1-5, 2008.  Roscoe Brewer had recent gall bladder surgery – prayer is needed that he can recover in time to attend this event.   Also begin praying for safe travel for all our missionaries attending, preparation of our hearts, a great attendance by our members, and most importantly: What would God have each of us do financially for the radio towers & for overall support for the next year.

Save-A-Life Banquet is coming quickly on 10/16/08. Please PRAY for this event as it is a critical fund raiser for this ministry outreach.  Please begin recruiting others to help out with that evening’s outreach.

Discussion was made regarding ongoing support of the Lexi House Ministry. Inquiry was made as to how much we have left in the JTeam budget for this type of support. Joe McAlpin indicated we haven’t used any of our budgeted amounts yet. Some members unfamiliar with the Lexi House asked general questions about their outreach to the community. It was also stated they will accept “left over” yard sale items to sell in their Thrift Store to help raise their needed support. Dan Cowan then made a recommendation to offer support of $100.00 per month. A vote was taken which passed unanimously.

Larry Waye suggested we go to the DBC website and read the testimonials from our church regarding the “Live Like You Were Dying” section of the site.  Alabama Baptist Magazine conducted an interview and report on this campaign.
