The mission of the Community Action Partnership is to reduce or eliminate the causes and consequences of poverty. The Meals on Wheels & More program enhances the quality of life for homebound individuals by providing nutritious meals, personal contact, and sharing information regarding other community resources that may improve their quality of life.
HOW YOU CAN HELP

Elijah's Blanket
Our mission is to provide warm cozy blankets to NICU parents in Morgan and Madison County. We believe it to be an essential resource because of an unexpected extended hospital stay. Our goal is to identify NICU parents and offer positive support and encouragement while they transition from joyful happiness to a challenging journey. Although each situation is different the need is still the same; bringing comfort to NICU parents while showing them support and the love of Jesus Christ.

First Priority Decatur & clothe our kids

First Priority is a two-fold ministry meeting both the spiritual and physical needs of students in Morgan and Lawrence Counties. Spiritual needs are met by providing Christian clubs where students are trained to reach their peers with the gospel. Physical needs are met by providing clothing through the ministry of Clothe Our Kids to students in need by working through four local school systems.
HOW YOU CAN HELP
• Volunteer to serve on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and/or Thursdays with Clothe Our Kids (volunteers will sort/size clothes and prepare bags to be delivered to the student)
• Donate Walmart or Target gift cards to purchase clothing, tennis shoes, and hygiene items as needed

The Volunteer Center seeks to mobilize volunteers and resources while meeting the needs of the community. They currently are active in giving food boxes for low income and unemployed families.

Sleep in Heavenly Peace

The mission of Sleep in Heavenly Peace is to fight bedlessness and to see that “no kid sleeps on the floor in our town.” They build, deliver, and set up twin beds for children ages 3-17 that are sleeping on the floor or in less than desirable sleeping situations.

neighborhood christian center

The NCC seeks to share the Gospel through their ministry. They offer emergency assistance weekly through our food, hygiene, and utility assistance program. They also teach backyard Bible clubs in low-income neighborhoods and deliver children’s snack packs weekly. In addition, they have three transitional homes, a jail and prison ministry, a Summer Youth Leadership Program, and educational and discipleship classes for Bible studies and life skills.

Community free clinic

The Community Free Clinic is valued as a resource to care for those who cannot afford health insurance. It is also a valuable resource which helps alleviate the strain on our hospital system caused by individuals not having access to preventative primary care. It is the only Free Clinic serving Morgan County and the City of Decatur.

The mission of Sav-A-Life is to choose to put God first. They want young women and men to know that they have someone to turn to and that He has all the answers to their unplanned pregnancy questions. His name is Jesus! We want to tell them of the One who has unconditional love for them and their baby. He made them and their baby for a purpose – to worship Him. He is a forgiving God that knows what they need. He will not force Himself on them but they are free to choose Him and to be set free. We are here to help them learn how to do just that!

habitat for humanity

The Habitat for Humanity is a non-profit in Morgan County that builds homes for low-income individuals at the cost of construction. Their mortgages charge zero interest. The need is growing each day. Right now, our local Habitat for Humanity has 300 names on a list from people calling and asking how to get a Habitat house. This number does not reflect people that monitor their website and are watching for them to announce taking applications again.
